Project Overview
Creation of UI templates for the Buy Now Pay Later client HummX Group, implemented here on the Q Mastercard website. The client wanted some fresh, that also could allow partner companies to showcase their products within the Hummx Environment. We also had to allow for credit card applications, search for HummX stores, and create templates for any special events, such as Valentine’s Day or a client who wanted a paid primary advert.

My Contributions
As this was an existing app the first step was to analyze the current design system already implemented and wanted kept by the client. After that my job was to simplify the design much as possible and make it intuitive for the users. The most important part of the project was designing new features that would allow users to buy off the site.

Research

As styles guides were already in place, I decided on heuristic research, finding templates and wireframes that best suit the client's needs. The site needed to be informative, sign up for a credit card and also be able to buy directly from the website. It needed to be a one-stop shop from what they currently had. I was also limited with the current user flow, which the client desired

Approach

Using the current design system in place and the atoms, molecules, and organisms created, I needed to approach the design, keeping these elements at the forefront of the process, as well as trying to make the product look different and appealing for a new market

Develop

Using the templates research previously, I sampled the most unused style colour and used that as my Primary colour and orange and grey as secondary styles. The use of lots of imagery was used, to entice the user to sign up for a new card or purchase a product. Iconography, imagery and colours replaced a more text-heavy site

Deliver

Delivery had many obstacles and add ons from the clinet as we progressed. They wanted special popups when there was a special occasion, that would lead the buyer into a section on deals. We also needed to create a complex menu dropdown/search system, using autocomplete in the search bar, to try and make the process a more user friendly experience.
