UI/UX Challenges

In the ever-evolving field of UI/UX design, continuous practice is vital for staying current and innovative. Engaging in challenges—such as redesigns, problem-solving exercises. By consistently tackling design challenges, UI/UX professionals sharpen their skills, foster creativity, and deliver user-centered solutions in an ever-changing digital landscape.

Create a Credit
Card Checkout

Prompt: Credit Card Checkout
Design a credit card checkout form or page. Don't forget the important elements such as the numbers, dates, security numbers, etc.

UI/UX Process

We aimed to create a clean and seamless user flow that enhances the overall experience, incorporating mild colour usage strategically to effectively highlight both the product and the main calls to action (CTAs). This approach ensures that the user's attention is directed where it is most needed, ultimately fostering engagement and guiding decisions.

Create a Music Player

Prompt: Music Player
Design a music player. It could be browser based or an app (i.e. Pandora, Spotify, etc.) or in a standalone product like in a car dashboard, jukebox, etc. Consider the controls, placements, imagery such as the artist or album cover, etc. Also, consider the device type that's playing the music. A dashboard in a tour bus, a smartwatch, or via a web browser. Each device type will have different requirements, features, and restrictions to consider.

Creating a user interface that centers around the image album as the primary focus for the user, combined with large, easily identifiable call-to-action buttons, significantly enhances the overall user experience, making it intuitive and enjoyable for the user. Additionally, we thoughtfully include access to previous albums and liked songs, ensuring that the user has all the necessary resources available right at their fingertips. When navigating within an album, the user is presented with all relevant information readily accessible, including options for saving a song, which contributes to a seamless and efficient interaction with the platform.

UI/UX Process

Create an Error Page

Prompt: 404 error page
Design a 404 page - that's not boring! Does it suit the brand's style? Is it user-friendly? It might sound mundane, but not everything can be flashy or glamorous. Every day millions of people will be landing on 404 pages. You have an opportunity to help them in a way that's useful and aesthetically pleasing. (It's up to you!)

For my fictional client Disny+, I improved the error page design with bright details to make it more engaging. I made a small change to the logo to match the text. This keeps with the brand's dark theme, ensuring consistency without strong white contrasts.

UI/UX Process

Create a User Profile

Prompt: User Profile
Design a user profile and be mindful of the most important data, names, imagery, placement, etc. Is it for a serious profile? A social profile? (It's up to you!)

Design a simple yet visually appealing profile card for a designer featured on a well-known platform dedicated to freelancers. This card will effectively and clearly display relevant social media links, along with a concise bio that highlights the designer's unique skills and extensive experience. Additionally, the key actions for clients to easily connect with the designer will be conveniently placed at the bottom of the card, ensuring a seamless and smooth user experience.

UI/UX Process

Create an App Icon

I decided to take on the exciting challenge of recreating an already existing brand known as Audible. By combining the imagery of headphones with a book icon, I was able to develop a simple yet remarkably strong brand identity that resonates well with the target audience. Additionally, the logo incorporates the unique perspective of someone holding a book, which significantly enhances its brand power and visual appeal. Both elements were meticulously recreated to ensure compatibility and aesthetic harmony for both Apple and Android platforms.

Prompt: App Icon
Design an app icon. What best represents the brand or product? Or is it incredibly unique? Does it look great at a distance and does it stand out when put on your home screen alongside other apps?

UI/UX

Create a Calculator

Prompt: Calculation
Design a calculation element or interface. Is it a standard calculator, a scientific one, or specialty calculator for something such as a home mortgage or auto loan? Is it to forecast a calculation such as for a credit score? Is it for a phone, a tablet, a web app?

UI/UX Process

To create an effective loan calculator, we thoughtfully included all the essential key options that a user might consider: the purpose of the loan, its duration, and the total amount requested. Our design not only focused on user experience but also aimed to enhance usability by incorporating an intuitive slider for real-time results, making the entire process more engaging and user-friendly.

Create a
Landing Page

Prompt: Landing Page
What's the main focus? Is it for a book, an album, a mobile app, a SaaS product? Consider important landing page elements (Headlines, call-to-action buttons, typography, clarity, etc.)

UI/UX Process

A well-designed banking landing page requires not only clear calls to action (CTAs) but also a straightforward and easy-to-navigate menu system, as banks typically offer a wide variety of financial products and services. Additionally, we aimed to create an opportunity for users who prefer a streamlined, one-click approach. This method allows them to quickly access the main types of loans that individuals commonly apply for, guiding them directly to the appropriate page with just a single click.
